Megabites II - Deep Water Structure Flatties 8-1-2009

Postby MegaBites » Sun Aug 02, 2009 10:24 am

Pauly a/k/a ReelDaze and I had the pleasure of taking my boy Drew a/k/a Skillz and his best bud Anthony a/k/a Catman out for some BIG flatties and BIG flatties is what we put them on. These two have been close friends since 1st grade and they really have a great time hanging out together. I could see Drew's face light up when I said to ask Catman if he wanted to go fishing :D The weather was perfect with just a long period swell when we got to the fishing grounds but with little wind to speak of the drift was only .03 knots and the action was minimal to say the least. In the early afternoon a solid breeze started to pickup and so did the bite. Anthony a/k/a Catman soon after landed his personal best flounder at just over 24 inches. 8) I was quite impressed with the keeper ratio at about a 2:1 ending the day with 13 keepers for the box with the big boy measuring out at just over 25 inches. Both boys had a GREAT time fishing together catching large flatties and Pauly and I had just as much fun fishing along side of them acting like we were kids ourselves.

Very impressive and good quantity and quality.

Friend of mine fished the McCray shoals and bagged 23 keepers with the biggest at 27 inches.
